The eleven poems in the book Disembarked feature extinct or endangered animals, recalling the losses that have occurred over the millennia and promoting a critical look at the environmental crisis and threats to biodiversity. In different languages, the book raises awareness and invites the reader to reflect on the preservation of life: the poems were set to music by composer and performer Carol Naine and are available in audio format using the QR code located on the back cover of the book. The illustrations by award-winning Daniel Kondo and the graphic design form an organic unity with the written text, in order to expand the meanings constructed by the whole. At the end of the book, there is an insert with brief informative texts about the species mentioned.
