Right at the beginning of the story, we see a pretty scale, much like those that could once be found in old markets. This scale has two trays on which are set toys, fruit, animals and other objects. Thus, this type of knowledge is presented in a playful way: objects may weigh more, or less. The themes of the book are relevant because they address issues from a mathematical standpoint in an original way.
