A war breaks out in the forest when hawks and vultures begin competing for supremacy. Faced with growing conflict, the creator god Monã entrusts an unlikely hero with an impossible mission: restoring peace. Armed only with the most beautiful song in the world, the small bird Uirapuru must teach the forest the value of harmony and respect for differences.
Written by Januária Cristina Alves, The Uirapuru and Other Incredible Animals from Brazilian Folklore transforms traditional legends into an engaging narrative about coexistence, acceptance, and wisdom. Alongside the Uirapuru, readers encounter other remarkable creatures from Brazilian folklore, including the Bumba Meu Boi, Teniaguá, Tutu, and Arranca-Língua.
Berje’s striking artwork enriches the mythical atmosphere while the Observer’s Guide offers additional information on the origins and characteristics of these extraordinary beings, creating a rich combination of storytelling, folklore, and cultural discovery.
